Created by Martin Ortega in the summer of 2008 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Wapayasos is a concept that combines “WAP” (Wireless Application Protocol), the portals that enable Internet navigation through mobile devices, with “ayaso,” forming: THE CLOWNS OF SOCIAL NETWORKS.

The concept portrays them as superheroes who protect their identities disguised as clowns. Their superpowers include Justice (GOLD), Health (PLATINUM), Love (DIAMOND), and Communication (The Robot Boy “WBOT”).

They battle against the Horripicosos, who promote Bullying (ALPHA), Animal Abuse, Lies (BETHA), Child Violence, and Obesity, aiming to harm children (GAMA). They also combat identity theft and the misuse of personal data (DELTHA).
